Eagles TE Brent Celek has sports hernia, hip surgeries
Philaelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek underwent surgery on Tuesday to repaor a sports hernia and torn labrum in his left hip.
The club announced the medical procedure today and declared both surgeries, which were performed concurrently, a success. Drs. William Meyers and John Salvo performed the surgeries.
Celek, 26, played in all 16 games for the fifth consecutive season. He has yet to miss a game in his NFL career. He finished second on the Eagles with 62 receptions for 811 yards. Celek scored five touchdowns.
He combined with Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson for the first trio of players with 800 yards receiving in the same season in franchise history.
