Eagles to sign Byron Maxwell to six-year, $63 million deal
The Philadelphia Eagles are signing Seattle Seahawks cornerback Byron Maxwell to a six-year, $63 million contract that includes $25 million guaranteed, according to a league source.
The deal includes $13.5 million in the first year, $22 million through two years, $32 million through three years, $42 million through four years, $52 million through five years and $11 million in the final year of the deal.
Maxwell's agent Alvin Keels, wrote on Twitter that a deal isn't done.
"A lot of chatter about Byron Maxwell to Philly," Keels wrote. "Is Philly interested? Yes. Is Byron Maxwell interested in Philly? Yes. Is it official? No."
Maxwell, 27, was a sixth-round draft choice out of South Carolina by the Seahawks in 2011.
He took over as a starter in the final five games of the 2013 season and had four interceptions.
Maxwell had two interceptions and 12 passed defensed last season.
