ECU's Willie Smith has worked out for 4 teams
East Carolina offensive tackle Willie Smith is still relatively new to the position, having played there for the last two seasons.
But NFL teams see him as a developmental prospect with solid size at 6-5, 310 pounds, and the late-round prospect is getting some attention. The Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars have put him through private workouts.
Smith, who played in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game, attended the Scouting Combine. He moved around earlier in his career with the Pirates, playing defensive end, defensive tackle and tight end. That speaks to the athleticism and feet he has as a tackle prospect.
