Ed Reed, Brandon Marshall joining Inside The NFL
Showtime's Inside The NFL will feature a new group this fall.
On Thursday, it was announced that former Ravens safety Ed Reed, Bears receiver Brandon Marshall, former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason and Greg Gumbel will join the team for the seventh season of the program being on Showtime.
Former NFL quarterback Phil Simms is the lone holdover of the five-man group.
"I'm very excited to be part of the Inside the NFL team this season," Reed said in a statement. "It's an honor to work along side such an award winning cast and crew. I look, very much, forward to continuing to work in and promote the game I love so much."
The season will premier on Showtime on Sept. 2 at 9 p.m. EST. During the season, the show will air each Tuesday, with the NFL Network re-airing episodes a day after on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST. Inside The NFL is only seven seasons in on Showtime, initially going from 1977-2008 on HBO.
“We’ve assembled, perhaps, the most dynamic cast in this show’s long history,” said Stephen Espinoza, executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports. “Of course, the program will continue to deliver breath-taking highlights and exclusive features. And now, we are coupling the respected and accomplished personalities of Simms, Boomer and Greg Gumbel with a defensive perspective from Ed Reed and Brandon Marshall’s perspective directly from the field. We are as excited as ever for the new season.”
