Ed Reed demoted from Texans' lineup
The Houston Texans waited for free agent signee Ed Reed to recover from a hip injury to join their starting lineup.
It was thought that Reed might be the final missing piece for a championship. Instead, the Texans have gone into a tailspin at 2-6 and Reed now finds himself no longer a starting safety, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Interim coach Wade Phillips, who is also the Texans defensive coordinator did not commit to Reed being a starter this week after he came off the bench last week against the Colts. Phillips indicated that Reed was more likely to be a situational player.
