E.J. Manuel: Eagles 'want me pretty bad'
Is E.J. Manuel, the Florida State quarterback, climbing draft boards in the nick of time.
He certainly thinks so.
Interest in Manuel has reportedly increased and Geoff Mosher of CSN Philadelphia lists the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets as potential suitors.
“(The Eagles) want me pretty bad,” Manuel told Mosher this afternoon.
“But I think it’s just a matter of who takes me first, because I know the Eagles may want me, the Cleveland Browns may want me, the Buffalo Bills and the Jets,” Manuel added. “I think those are all sequential picks, you know what I mean, within those top 13 picks or whatever. I’m just hoping one team loves me, because really, that’s all you need, one team to fall in love with you.”
Manuel is right. It only takes one club to fall in love with him but a team would have to have that feeling to pull the trigger on him in the first round. Manuel has excellent size, a strong arm and he moves well. Maybe one of the teams will target him in the second round. We might not know until Friday who loves him most.
