Eli Manning named NFC offensive player of the week
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has been named the NFC offensive player of the week coming off the team’s upset of the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
Manning threw for four touchdown and completes 16 of 23 passes for 254 yards in the 29-16 victory. His passer rating of 145.7 was the highest of his career and it was the sixth four-touchdown game for Manning.
This is the second time Manning has been given the award and first since 2006. The win improved him to 5-2 at Philadelphia.
Considering all of the injuries that have piled up for the Giants on defense, New York is going to need more top performances from Manning to compete in the NFC this season.
