Eli Manning puts a helmet on again
Eli Manning has his helmet back where it needs to be and where it needs to stay.
The New York Giants quarterback has returned to the practice field today and he’s now wearing a helmet after going with a baseball cap earlier in the week because of the three-inch gash he has opened on his forehead in the preseason opener with the New York Jets. The injury was more gory than anything else, and it certainly provided a scare.
Manning required 12 stitches to close the wound, and sat out the team’s last exhibition game. Now, he’s back on the field with the proper headwear, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, positioning him for a return to game action.
Hopefully, the Giants will ensure that his helmet cannot be popped off if he’s pinballed between running back Brandon Jacobs and opposing defenders again.
