Elway: Broncos rallying around Tebow
John Elway might have been slow to warm up to the Tim Tebow frenzy that has engulfed the Denver Broncos and the NFL over the past two months.
But according to quotes from his weekly radio show reported by the Denver Post, it sounds as if the Broncos president is now aboard the Tebow bandwagon after yet another comeback win, 13-10 in overtime against the Chicago Bears.
"Everyone believes that something good's going to happen," Elway said. "And, obviously, Tim's been the guy that's led that thinking. He's just such a strong believer. He's really got everyone else believing if you stay strong, stay positive, something good's going to happen.
"When guys are thinking that way — and it's been led by Timmy with that positive attitude — all boats have been rising with that."
Elway also indicated that he plans to help Tebow refine his passing skills this off-season, although it seems you need only to get Tebow in the fourth quarter of a game trailing to make his passing arm come to life. After starting the game 3-of-16, Tebow hit on 18 of his final 24 throws in the fourth quarter and OT against the Bears, finishing with 236 yards and a touchdown.
"I'm hoping to spend as much time as possible with Tim this offseason and give him what I know, and be able to help him with the quarterback position," he said.
