Elway: Broncos still haven't settled on QB
John Elway could be seen clapping after Tim Tebow's 20-yard, game-clinching touchdown Thursday night against the New York Jets.
But the Broncos president clearly isn't completely sold on Tebow as the team's long-term answer at quarterback just yet.
Asked on his weekly radio show if he felt the Broncos were any closer to finding their long-term solution at quarterback, Elway answered, "No," according to the Denver Post.
Elway said the Broncos have to improve their third-down conversion rate after going 3-for-13 against the Jets.
"I think obviously he's making progress week in and week out. When you look at our third down numbers, those have to improve. I mean, that's the bottom line," Elway said. "We can't go 3-for-13 and win a world championship. Those are the type of things we have to keep improving."
In essence, Elway told us what we already knew - that Tebow is still very much a work in progress. It comes down to whether the Broncos are patient enough to see that work through.
