Esera Tuaolo arrested for domestic assault

Former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Esera Tuaolo was arrested this week and charged with domestic violence in Ramsey County, Minn.

According to the St. Paul Pionner Press, Tuaolo was charged with domestic assault, assault and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanor chargers. Tauolo resides in Eden Prairie, where the Vikings’ headquarters is located.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call last Sunday of a domestic assault in North Oaks, Minn. As is often the case in domestic abuse situations, the victim was not identified. Tuaolo made international headlines in 2002, after he was done playing football, when he revealed that he was gay.

Per the report, Tuaolo was released on $2,000 bail on Monday. A court date has been set for August.
