Eugene Monroe to miss time with injured knee
The Ravens' offensive line will look a little different for the short term.
On Wednesday, coach John Harbaugh announced that left tackle Eugene Monroe has a knee injury that requires a minor procedure. This will force him to miss some time, though it's unclear how much. With Monroe out, undrafted rookie tackle James Hurst is expected to fill in at left tackle.
Of course, this could be subject to change. While Hurst is the backup left tackle, the Ravens have enough versatile linemen to make some changes. Kelechi Osemele has the ability to play tackle and Rick Wagner could move from the right to the left side.
It'll definitely be risky to trot out an undrafted rookie at left tackle against a tough front seven in Carolina. That's one reason why it shouldn't be seen as a definite that Hurst will be the guy just yet.
