Ex-Bronco Cox acquitted on sexual assault charges
A Colorado jury has acquitted former Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox of sexual assault charges, the Denver Post reports.
Cox had been charged in a Labor Day weekend incident from 2010 where the alleged victim had claimed he sexually assaulted her after she had passed out in his apartment. She became pregnant and the fetus' tissue was a DNA match to the football player.
According to the report, the victim was sobbing after the verdict of not guilty was read. Cox could have faced between two years and life in prison if convicted.
With the event now behind him, the question for Cox is will another NFL team take a chance on him. The Broncos released him before last season started.
