Falcons exercise fifth-year option for Desmond Trufant

The Atlanta Falcons exercised their fifth-year option for Pro Bowl cornerback Desmond Trufant. Trufant is now under contract through the 2017 season. Trufant was drafted in the first round in 2013. He's started every game for the Falcons. Trufant has recorded 184 career tackles, 50 passes defended, six interceptions, four fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and one sack.
