Falcons looking to extend Roddy White's contract

The Falcons are planning on extending receiver Roddy White's contract before the season starts, according to a report from NFL.com.

The report states that White should have his new deal in place by training camp. But the two sides aren't working on it now due to the fact that White's half-brother, Tyrone Moore Jr., was shot and killed in Charleston earlier this month. The franchise is giving White some personal space at this time.

Production wise, White had his worst season since 2006, when he was just in his second year in the NFL. He finished the season with 711 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games played.

Still, with a healthy offense, White and Julio Jones create a formidable duo on the outside, which sould allow Matt Ryan to thrive on offense. White has done plenty for the Falcons to warrant an extension.
