Falcons reach deals with Jake Matthews, Ra'Shede Hageman

The Atlanta Falcons have struck deals with both of their top two draft picks: first-round offensive tackle Jake Matthews and second-round defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman.

Drafted sixth overall out of Texas A&M, Matthews was a consensus All-American and a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection.

He's the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews.

Hageman played at Minnesota, recording 91 tackles, 10 sacks, 24 tackles for losses, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two blocked kicks.

Serving as a team captain last season, Hageman was named a third-team All-American and was a consensus All-Big Ten first-team choice after recording 38 tackles with two sacks and a career-high 13 tackles for loss.
