Falcons safety William Moore cleared for return

Safety William Moore, who suffered through an injury-marred rookie season with the Atlanta Falcons, has been cleared for full participation in the team’s minicamp, which opens Fridau.

Hamstring and knee issues plagued him a year ago after the Falcons selected him in the second round from Missouri. He played in only two games before landing on season-ending injured reserve. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in August and then suffered a hamstring injury in October bad enough to end his year.

“He’s ready to go,” coach Mike Smith told D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Some of Moore’s teammates are not quite as lucky. Defensive tackle Peria Jerry, the first-round pick a year ago, remains sidelined while he rehabilitates his way back from a torn ACL. Cornerback Brian Williams is also still rehabilitating from a torn ACL suffered in October. Wide receiver Harry Douglas, who also has a knee injury, will be out. Per the report, all three will miss the minicamp and OTA’s, which begin May 25. The hope is the players will be available at some point during training camp.
