Falcons sign Derrick Shelby, cut Paul Soliai

The Atlanta Falcons signed Miami Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby to a four-year, $21 million deal. Shelby left the Dolphins after starting nine games last season. The Falcons cut veteran nose tackle Paul Soliai Shelby had 3 1/2 sacks, 31 quarterback hurries and four passes defended last season. Shelby is a stout defensive lineman.
