Falcons sign safety Charles Godfrey to extension

The Atlanta Falcons signed safety Charles Godfrey to a one-year, $1.5 million extension. Gofrey is a former Carolina Panthers third-round draft pick from Iowa. He was signed by the Falcons last season. Godfrey played in five games with the Falcons and seven games with the Panthers last season. Prior to joining the Falcons, he played in 82 games with 75 starts while recording 372 tackles, three sacks, 33 passes defensed, and 11 interceptions.
