Falcons' Terren Jones carted off field

Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Terren Jones suffered an apparently serious injury today.

Jones was carted off the field.

According to ESPN, Jones didn't move and had his eyes closed and his neck was strapped down on a stretcher.

"We certainly hope Terren is going to be all right," coach Mike Smith said. "We don't have any update right now. But as soon as we do, we'll release that information. Any time a player doesn't leave the field on his own power, you're always concerned about it."

Meanwhile, rookie defensive lineman Ra'Shede Hagemen injured his wrist during a fight with center Joe Hawley.

"I think we're all talking about competing and fighting for jobs, but we're not talking about fighting each other," Smith said. "We've got to understand that. It's not what we're about. We're about competing and going out and trying to win a job. But we're not about fighting one another. That's something that happens when it gets hot."
