Fighting for a job, Rich Seubert now has a broken hand

The New York Giants could be without the services of veteran guard Rich Seubert for a while.

He’s battling to keep his starting job in training camp and is now sidelined with a broken bone in his left hand, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. He has his hand in a splint, and per Vacchiano a team source said the hope is he is back in action late next week.

Per the report, veteran David Diehl and up-and-coming Will Beatty are in competition for the left tackle position. If Beatty prevails, Diehl will likely be moved to left guard, putting Seubert on the bench. The good news on the line is that center Shaun O’Hara, out with swelling in his ankle, could be back in action beginning Monday.
