Fitzgerald trying to recruit Manning to Cardinals
If Peyton Manning get to the open market because of the Indianapolis Colts releasing him, then there won't be any shortage of teams looking to obtain him, provided he is healthy enough to play.
Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports via his Twitter account that Manning and Fitzgerald are expected to have dinner together in Indianapolis this week and the Cardinals star receiver is hopeful that Manning will serious consider Arizona if he becomes available and is able to play.
Fitzgerald has been desperate for the Cardinals to land another franchise quarterback since Kurt Warner retired. The Cardinals paid a hefty price to trade for Kevin Kolb, but his first year in the desert was a disappointment.
It remains to be seen if the Cardinals, who haven't always spent cash freely in the past, would be willing to pony up for Peyton so soon after paying Kolb.
