Former NFL star, TV personality Mike Adamle faces hard times
Mike Adamle, a prominent sportscaster in Chicago and a former running back in the NFL and star at Northwestern, faces foreclosure on his $1.1 million Evanston, Ill., home.
Some may remember Adamle as a host of “American Gladiators” and for his work as an announcer with the WWE, but he has also been a fixture in Chicago on television since his playing days ended. He currently works for the NBC affiliated WMAQ.
It’s a difficult stretch he is in as the bank has filed suit while Adamle also has had a lien filed against him by the Internal Revenue Service. He’s in the midst of a divorce and was arrested in Evanston last month on suspicion of drunk driving after he allegedly failed a field sobriety test during which Adamle, an active triathlete at 61, performed a head stand. It should be noted he passed a breathalyzer.
