Foster, Woodley, McKnight earn October honors

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster did not start the season the way he wanted to with a nagging hamstring injury costing him a good part of September.

But has made made up for lost time, and on Thursday was named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Month.

Also, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley was honored as the AFC's Defensive Player of the Month, while New York Jets return man Joe McKnight was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month.

Foster had 499 yards rushing in October, plus another 310 yards receivign along with five TDs for the Texans, who went 3-2 in the month.

Woodley had 25 tackles and 7.5 sacks for the month as well as an interception for the Steelers, who posted a 4-1 record in October.

McKnight returned 11 kickoffs for the Jets in the month of October and had 443 yards, including a 107-yard return for a touchdown, which marks the longest play in Jets franchise history.
