Frank Alexander suspended 10 games under substance-abuce policy
Carolina Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander missed practice on Wednesday due to a personal reason, coach Ron Rivera told reporters.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, it appears to be more than just a personal reason. According to a report from NFL.com, Alexander will be suspended 10 games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse program again.
Under guidelines of the 2011 collective bargaining agreement, the NFL can't reveal what drug Alexander tested positive for. However, under the new marijuana policy the NFL and NFLPA agreed on, a fifth offense results in a 10-game suspension.
Alexander was expected to be back at team headquarters on Wednesday after serving a four-game suspension for a previous substance-abuse policy violation.
