Frank Reich could wind up as Bills' coach
The Buffalo Bills could reach back into their past for their next head coach.
Now that Doug Marrone has opted out of his contract, the Bills could go after San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich.
The Bills could also consider their defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher.
Reich has coached for the Chargers for the past two seasons.
Reich is also a candidate for the New York Jets job.
Bill Polian is expected to come back to run the Bills and Reich goes back with him to his time as a quarterback for the team backing up Jim Kelly.
“I think Frank, in his first year, did a very good job,” Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said. “He’s smart. He’s detailed. He’s prepared for this for a long time.
“He’s a great teacher, a great communicator, and he can really handle a room as far as handling the offense. I’m not surprised that some teams would have interest in him.”
