Frazier still at work assembling his coaching staff
While the Minnesota Vikings wait to see what happens with Josh McDaniels, who they interviewed to be their offensive coordinator last week, Leslie Frazier is moving ahead with other spots on his coaching staff.
According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Dave Magazu is a candidate to become the offensive line coach. The Vikings will also consider Mike Priefer to replace Brian Murphy as special teams coach.
Of course, Darrell Bevell still remains under contract as the team’s offensive coordinator and Murphy is still in his position. But nothing as guaranteed, and Frazier is obviously working as efficiently as he can to finalize his staff.
The Vikings aren’t certain if they will land McDaniels. He’s been linked to Miami, where he could replace retiring Dan Henning. Per the report, Chris Palmer could also be a candidate. The more names that surface – and get consideration – the better the chance Bevell is reassigned or released. Assistant defensive line coach Ryan Silverfield is expected to be named the new assistant offensive line coach.
