Garcon uncertain how much he'll be able to do in offseason

Pierre Garcon opted not to have surgery to repair a torn ligament near the second toe in his right foot and the Washington Redskins wide receiver said he is uncertain if he will be 100 percent this coming season.

Garcon, appearing on NFL Network, said he does not know how much he will be able to do during the team’s offseason program.

I’ll be healthy enough to play,” Garcon said, according to the Washington Post. “I can’t say I’ll be 100 percent, but I’ll be back out there helping the team in any way possible.

“I’ll be rehabbing and doing whatever I’m able to do,” Garcon said. “The trainers will let me know and we won’t try to win a Super Bowl in April, but we’ll try to move ahead.”

The Redskins made a big addition with Garcon in free agency last season and he played in 10 games, making 44 receptions for 633 yards and four touchdowns. The team was 9-1 in games Garcon played, and he was a trusted target for Robert Griffin III.

With any luck, Garcon will be close to 100 percent by the time September rolls around.
