Garrard ready to return in 2012
Former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard will be healthy enough to play and wants to return to the NFL in 2012, his agent Albert Irby told NFL Network.
The Jaguars released Garrard, their long-time starter, just before the season opener, and a number of teams inquired about him, but he wound up having back surgery.
The Miami Dolphins tried to work out a deal, and the Oakland Raiders had interest in Garrard just before he opted to have surgery for a back injury he says he suffered in training camp with the Jaguars.
Quarterbacks with experience usually can land a job if they are healthy and can play, and Garrard will probably be no exception, as Irby says his client is willing to take a job as a starter or as a backup next season.
