Garrard workout for Raiders termed 'highly possible'

Could David Garrard wind up with the Oakland Raiders?

Garrard’s agent, Albert Irby, told National Football Post on Monday that he and Garrard are scheduled to talk this afternoon, and then would make a decision as to whether or not the quarterback would be interested in the Raiders.

Asked if Garrard would be traveling to Oakland to work out for the Raiders, Irby said it was “highly possible,” but added that he would have to discuss the matter with Garrard, whom he termed as “unavailable” on Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Garrard was unceremoniously released by the Jacksonville Jaguars just five days before the start of the regular season and has been idle ever since.

He apparently turned out a chance to join the winless Miami Dolphins recently after Chad Henne suffered a season-ending shoulder injury because he did not feel comfortable with that situation.

The Raiders, however, are 4-2 after Sunday’s win over Cleveland, but need help at quarterback after Jason Campbell suffered a broken collarbone that could put his season in jeopardy as well.
