Gary Gibbs not allowed to interview with Redskins

The Washington Redskins have been denied permission to interview Kansas City Chiefs linebackers coach Gary Gibbs for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Gibbs is also inclined to stay in Kansas City.

The Redskins fired Jim Haslett as defensive coordinator.

A former Oklahoma head coach, Gibbs has coached for the Chiefs since 2009.

The Redskins were also blocked by the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills when they asked to interview Vic Fangio and Jim Schwartz.

The Redskins do have interviews with San Diego Chargers linebackers coach Joe Barry, 49ers secondary coach Ed Donatell and former Houston Texans coach Wade Phillips.
