Geno Smith late for meeting, benched, now still the starter

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith was late for a team meeting because he got confused about the time difference on the West Coast.

He then was benched during the game for his performance and replaced by Michael Vick, but remains the starter going forward.

A Jets spokesman called it an "honest mistake."

Smith had a career-low 7.6 passer rating.

Smith cursed at a fan and was fined $12,000. He also was rude during media sessions.
