Gerald Sensabaugh signs tender with Cowboys
Veteran safety Gerald Sensabaugh has signed his tender as a restricted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys.
Sensabaugh will receive $1.815 million this season but like just about every other RFA out there, he is fishing for a longterm commitment, the kind teams are not giving out with the dark labor cloud hanging over the game.
"We are still very optimistic and extremely confident a long-term deal will happen," Sensabaugh’s agent Kevin Conner told the Dallas Morning News. "Gerald wants to focus on the upcoming season and playing at a high level.”
However, signing wide receiver Miles Austin, also an RFA, to a longterm deal would seem to be a bigger priority for Jerry Jones right now. Austin is the club’s only remaining RFA to not be signed.
Last season was Sensabaugh’s first with the Cowboys. He played in 15 games and had a broken thumb most of the season. Sensabaugh spent his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
