Get ready for Fisher Bowl: Dolphins to host Rams in '12
If the Miami Dolphins and their fans feel spurned and hurt by Jeff Fisher choosing the St. Louis Rams over them, they'll get a chance to show just how much this fall.
You have to love the football fate that is sometimes created by the NFL's rotating schedule, because Jeff Fisher and his St. Louis Rams will indeed visit Sun Life Stadium this fall at a date yet to be determined.
After choosing the Rams on Friday and turning away a lucrative offer from Miami, it is certain that Fisher won't get the same hospitable treatment when he returns to South Florida that he did last week when he arrived on Dolphins owner Stephen Ross' private helicopter.
The question that remains of course is who will be coaching the Dolphins now that we know it won't be Fisher.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald says the Dolphins will probably have to settle for a lesser-known candidate. But that could still work out OK if it's the right guy. How many people outside of NFL circles knew anything about the likes of Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin or Mike McCarthy before they all started winning Super Bowls.
Look at the glass half full, Dolphins fans. Whoever the Dolphins eventually hire will have at least the same number of Super Bowl victories that Fisher does right now and probably cost a whole lot less.
