Giants add quarterback Riley Skinner
Riley Skinner, the Internet sensation from Wake Forest, if you want to call him that, has landed a gig in the NFL.
Skinner has signed a contract with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent after he participated in the team’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
"All I ever really wanted was a chance to get a foot in the door," Skinner told the Florida Times-Union. "It's a long shot (to go to training camp) when you just get a tryout, but everything turned out well.
"I was a little shocked when I got the call. I'm really excited about it."
He apparently takes the place of Holy Cross’ Dom Randolph, who had been signed as an undrafted free agent, but is no longer on the roster.
Skinner threw for 3,160 yards and 25 touchdowns last season for Wake Forest. He is the school’s all-time leading passer with 9,762 yards. Skinner also is the program’s all-time leader in appearing in the buff on the Internet.
