Giants bring back WR Derek Hagan
Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News speculated that Derek Hagan would be the wide receiver of choice for the Giants after they lost emerging Ramses Barden for the season to a serious ankle injury, and the New York Daily News writer was on the money.
The Giants added Hagan today, bringing back a player who knows the system and spent the offseason and training camp with the club. Hagan had success on special teams for the Giants previously and should fit in right away.
The Giants could be without Steve Smith for another few weeks as he recovers from a partially torn pectoral muscle. That means quarterback Eli Manning will certainly be shorthanded this week when the Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles with first place in the NFC East on the line.
