Giants get good news on Hakeem Nicks
The New York Giants were probably due for some good health news for once, but it wasn’t all good in the aftermath of the club’s narrow 20-17 victory Sunday over the winless Miami Dolphins.
Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks does not have a serious problem with his right hamstring. He had an MRI on Monday and it revealed good news, according to the New York Daily News. Nicks is considered day-to-day and he’s not expected to miss Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.
Nicks was hobbled late in the fourth quarter of the win. That, apparently, is also when cornerback Justin Tryon suffered a “severe break” of his right arm. Tryon was injured earlier in the game but the arm was made worse when he covered a punt in the fourth quarter. He’s just the latest cornerback on the roster to go on injured reserve.
