Giants lose Domenik Hixon for season
The injury-ravaged New York Giants took another hit as Domenik Hixon will miss the remainder of the season.
The team’s third wide receiver and primary return man tore the ACL in his right knee making an acrobatic touchdown catch in the Giants’ 28-16 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Monday night at MetLife Stadium, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. It’s the second consecutive year he’s suffered a torn ACL in his right knee. Hixon missed the entire 2010 season.
Hixon was hopeful Monday night that he had only suffered a calf injury. He attempted playing but wasn’t the same. Tests on Tuesday brought the worst-case scenario to life.
The Giants are continuing to monitor wide receiver Mario Manningham, who had a concussion. Looks like the club could be in the market for some help soon.
