Giants lose Sintim for year, status of receivers unclear

The New York Giants know they will be without linebacker Clint Sintim for the remainder of the season as he suffered a torn ACL in Monday night’s 21-3 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field in Detroit.

The status of the top part of Eli Manning’s corps of wide receivers remains less clear. Steve Smith (hamstring) and Mario Manningham (hip) suffered setbacks with their ailments, according to the New York Daily News. They underwent MRIs and tests today, but no further information is currently available.

Smith made one catch for 12 yards and Manningham caught one pass for one yard. Smith had been sidelined with a partially torn pectoral muscle since last month. The Giants’ receivers have been beat up so much that it’s put a real burden on the team. They need these players to heal quickly.
