Giants met with free agent tackle Jake Long

With left tackle Will Beatty sidelined indefinitely with a torn pectoral, the New York Giants met with four-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long. Long was cut by the St. Louis Rams and has had injury issues. Long was drafted first overall in 2008 by the Miami Dolphins. Long has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee over the past two seasons and torn biceps and triceps the previous two years. He was cut by the St. Louis Rams in March. The Giants could also go with rookie Ereck Flowers at left tackle, but Long could give them another alternative.
