Giants sign quarterback Rusty Smith

The New York Giants have signed former Tennessee Titans quarterback Rusty Smith.

Smith previously tried out for the Giants and the New Orleans Saints.

The Giants have starter Eli Manning under contract as well as reserves Ryan Nassib, Josh Freeman and Curtis Painter.

The former Florida Atlantic standout has completed 23 of 45 career passes for 234 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions.

In his lone NFL start against the Houston Texans, where he completed 17 of 31 passes for 138 yards and three interceptions.

In college, Smith set records with 768 completions, 10,112 passing yards and 76 touchdown passes.
