Giants signing Kelvin Sheppard, Bobby Rainey, Byron Stingily

The New York Giants are signing former Miami Dolphins linebacker Kelvin Sheppard along with running back Bobby Rainey and offensive tackle Byron Stingily. Sheppard had 105 tackles in 13 starts last season for the Dolphins. Sheppard and Keenan Robinson are the Dolphins' new linebackers along with re-signing Jasper Brinkley. Sheppard has also played for the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills. Rainey has played in 46 games with 11 starts. His career totals include 249 rushing attempts for 990 yards and six touchdowns, one an 80-yarder, and 51 receptions for 377 yards and two scores. Rainey also has a 9.5-yard average on 36 career punt returns, and a 24.7-yard average on 32 kickoff returns. Stingily, 6-5 and 318 pounds, played 20 games with nine starts for the Tennessee Titans from 2012-14. Last season, he was waived at the end of training camp. Stingily was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 19, but did not play in a game. Stingily was Tennesseeā€™s sixth-round draft choice from Louisville in 2011.
