Giants stuck in Kansas City en route to Minnesota
The New York Giants are taking the long road to Minneapolis.
By way of Kansas City.
That is where the team will spend the night after the charter flight the Giants took was diverted to Kansas City because of a snowstorm pounding the Twin Cities. That is according to Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon, via his Twitter account.
The game between the teams is still scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (ET) on Sunday. It should be noted that when a major snowstorm pounded Baltimore last December, the NFL moved back the start of the Bears-Ravens game to 4:15 in order to allow crews to clear snow from the stadium. The snow prevented the Bears from arriving until nearly 11 p.m. the night before the game. The Giants face the challenge of having to travel in the morning.
At least they don’t have to clear out the Metrodome to play the game. Yes, the Vikings are pushing for an open-air stadium in their big to get a new facility too.
