Glazers claim they remain committed to Manchester United

The Glazer family isn’t planning on ditching the world’s most valuable sports franchise anytime soon.

Despite ongoing speculation that they’re looking to peddle Manchester United, the English Premier soccer club to a Qatari royal family, the Glazers reiterated their commitment to owning the team on Friday, according to the Associated Press.

In a quarterly update of financial results, the club released a statement:

“The board notes recent press speculation regarding a possible bid for Manchester United. The owners remain fully committed to their long-term ownership of the club. No discussions have taken place, Manchester United is not for sale and the owners will not entertain any offers.”

The Glazers are not popular with the Man-U fan base and for years now the perception has been that they have sharply reduced their spending with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of their financial obligations with the soccer club.
