Good chance Drew Stanton starts first playoff game

Drew Stanton won't play in Arizona's season-finale against the 49ers this Sunday.

However, the Cardinals are anticipating the second-string quarterback being available for the team's first playoff game. Speaking to reporters, coach Bruce Arians said Stanton had an 85 percent chance of playing once the postseason begins.

"He's going to practice some this week, and we'll see how he goes," Arians said, via ESPN.com. "Do not plan on playing him this week unless it was absolutely necessary."

Stanton took over starting quarterback duties after Carson Palmer tore his anterior cruciate ligament. Stanton has thrown for 1,711 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions this season.
