Goodell says Favre decision coming down soon

In the nick of time, the NFL may reach a verdict in the Brett Favre texting case.

Commissioner Roger Goodell said on Wednesday that the league was close to a decision in the case which involved Jenn Sterger, at the time an in-game hostess for the New York Jets.

At this point, we’re not sure if it really matters. There are three games remaining in the season – Favre has said it will be his last – and there are questions of the 41-year-old will be able to play with a sprained right shoulder.

The NFL has conducted an investigation into whether or not Favre sent messages and photos to Sterger in 2008. Goodell said he expects to render a decision before the end of the regular season. According to the report, Sterger’s manager Phil Reese has said his client would like the NFL to “implement a program” to deter sexual harassment.<br />
