Greg Hardy: 'I've never put a hand on any woman'

Veteran free agent defensive end Greg Hardy told ESPN he'd never hit a woman. Hardy discussed a 2014 incident involving a former girlfriend, Nicole Holder, allegedly hitting her and injuring her. "I've never put my hand on any women," Hardy said in the interview. "In my whole entire life, No sir. Saying I did nothing wrong is a stretch but saying I'm innocent is correct, sir." Hardy allegedly threw Holder against a bathroom wall, threw her on a bed covered with assault rifles, choked her and threatened her life during a confrontation. Hardy was convicted of domestic violence in 2014, but appealed and the case got thrown out when Holder stopped cooperating. "Pictures are pictures and they can be made to look like whatever they want to," Hardy said. "I didn't say I didn't do anything wrong. That situation occurred and that situation was handled but as a man you can't avoid situations that aren't your fault or are your fault." Hardy played for the Dallas Cowboys last season. He admitted that the backlash from the incident had caused him to be unsigned. "Saying I did nothing wrong is a stretch but saying I'm innocent is correct, sir," he said. Hardy served a 10-game suspension last season for violating the NFL personal conduct policy. Hardy had six sacks last season. He has 40 for his career.
