Greg Jennings has been sidelined since Aug. 3 with concussion

Greg Jennings remains sidelined after suffering a concussion during a scrimmage on Aug. 3 and the Green Bay Packers don’t have a timeline right now for when the wide receiver will return.

Well, it’s a long time,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said of Jennings’ stay on the sideline, according to ESPN Milwaukee. “So obviously based on the extent of his injury, he obviously needs (this) much time. He did some more testing and he’s still going through the protocol test, but we’re not going to put him back out there until we’re 100 percent (sure) that he’s clear.”

Left tackle Marshall Newhouse also suffered a concussion Aug. 3 and he returned to practice on Monday, so he was also sidelined more than a week. They are two of four Packers to suffer concussions in training camp. Tight ends Jermichael Finley and Ryan Taylor also had concussions.

The Packers need Jennings on the field this season and being cautious with him now makes sense. Hopefully, he’s in the fold soon.
