Greg Jennings to visit Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have a glaring hole on their roster.
They need help at the wide receiver position.
Now, arguably the best receiver on the market will pay a visit. Greg Jennings, the longtime standout for the Green Bay Packers, will visit the Vikings today, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. It’s a probable sign that Jennings’ big salary demands have lowered because Jennings’ camp has been after the Vikings from the start and they have balked.
Signing Jennings would not only help the Vikings it would do damage to the Packers because there have been reports that he could return to Green Bay. He’s a solid performer but isn’t likely to fetch the $10 million annual average in salary he’s been seeking.
The Vikings hold two picks in the first round after their trade of Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks, so they will surely be targeting a wide receiver high in the draft. Pairing a young player with a veteran like Jennings would greatly upgrade the targets for quarterback Christian Ponder. We’ll see if the Vikings can get a deal done at their price.
