Greg Jennings went to see specialist for groin injury

Greg Jennings injured his groin muscle in the season opener and tweaked the injury three weeks later.

He hasn’t played since and while the Green Bay Packers have not ruled out the wide receiver for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jennings went to see a specialist for his injury on Tuesday. Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin reports Jennings was out of town on Tuesday and the veteran was not available for comment.

Wilde speculates it is possible Jennings could remain sidelined through the team’s bye weekend on Nov. 11. That would be extensive time on the bench but fortunately Randall Cobb has stepped up in the absence of Jennings. The second-year wide receiver, primarily a returner last year, has caught 15 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns in the last two games.

“I think we’ve found a rhythm as an offense,” wide receiver Jordy Nelson said. "I don’t think it really is necessarily with or without (Jennings) because when he was playing we were struggling. (At) Seattle, we struggled. So I think as an offense we’re getting into a little bit of a rhythm. There’s still much we can do, still areas we can improve.”

Look for Jennings’ situation to become a little more clear as the week goes along.
